"It's not the years, it's the mileage" - or is it?

<div><br></div><div>On-Board Diagnostics the 2 refers to the major revision which is a MUCH more standardized system.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>

"It's not the years, it's the mileage" - or is it?

Well, now I have to suggest something <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> Don't focus too much on getting the "newest" or the lowest miles or anything specific like that. My standard MO is to find the best "deal". I know I have probably mentioned it too many...

    What type of van?

Hey Fuz, check this link out.&nbsp;<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><a href="http://www.roadtrek.com/brochure_list.aspx" target="_blank">http://www.roadtrek.com/brochure_list.aspx</a><div><br></div><div>The brochures there have floorplans etc that can be handy...

    Van Break-ins/ Jackings

For me this topic comes down to comfort level. I am not a worry wort in any sense of the term, never have been. That said, when we park at a remote trail head to go hiking or mountain biking away from the van, there is always a bit of a concern in the back of my head. I know that adding a decent...

    Does snoring blow stealth?

LOL! No Joke at all! I won't say who it is that sounds like a heard of chainsaws but her initials are HEIDI and I married her ;P &nbsp;<div><br></div><div>If things get too loud and we are in an area that it could matter, I give a gentle nudge and it usually takes care of it for a while. When...

    What type of van?

With two of us living comfortably in a 17' van for a couple years now, I can tell you that design has everything to do with it. I have seen many larger vans and even a friends gorgeous 04 Chinook which is quite a bit larger and extremely nice, that would not work as well for two as our van does...

    Staying clean

I know people think I am nuts already, this ought to concrete that theory! Our B had a shower already and I spent the entire winter making it even more comfortable to use by converting the bathroom closet to a wet bath instead of it being dry only and having to use only the isle area for the...

    Crock Pot Question

What the crockpot works well for is driving! We use a regular 110v model while cruising down the road. We keep it in the sink and run it off our inverter which works very well. It works fine when on shore power too of course, but when we are parked, we just use a pressure cooker on LP which is...

    Pressure Cooker?

Heidi and I use them fairly often. We have a large cast aluminum one that we use for canning as well as cooking and a smaller SS one that we just use for cooking. You don't have to soak the beans over night, you can pressure cook them for 5 minutes then wash them off and start your cooking...

    From Stealth Van to RV

Hey, just a bit late on this, but thought I would share a small bit of input <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> Class B's can be stealthy too, I really think ours does a pretty good job of it. Most people don't realize it is anything more than a conversion...

    Single And Hating It

I am no longer single, but was when I started vandwelling. I think you are on the right track looking at other folks who are living in vans already. Trying to get past normal dating issues is enough fun, add in someone that doesn't get the lifestyle and it would be a pretty big hurdle. My wife...

    Securing "Floating" Bed Platform

Thanks Vickie <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> It is nice to see you here too! I know whenever you do get down to building out your bed, be it a goucho model or some other creative style, it is going to be just right for you! Your research will no doubt...

    Flippin' Campers

As mentioned, I am sure this would be fine as long as you are a private party selling them and not doing too many units a year according to your state laws. That shouldn't be a problem if you are taking time to do them right and only one person doing the work. I think it would be a fun, I love...

    New in Washington

Welcome Joel! From a fellow Washington guy (on the OP). The camper sounds cool, you should post a pic or two here <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> Would spare you a lot of curious emails.

    type of lap top PC

Heidi and I each have a Samsung N110 netbook. They are fairly small but easy to type on and have great screens as well as significant storage. (160GB) Heidi has XP on hers and I run Linux on mine, also have 2 GB RAM on mine. They both work very well! Had them for over a year now and no issues...

    I know what I want!!!

It will be interesting to read who did the conversion on it. Most B's do have a pretty decent amount of water storage on board. In the main tank we have 31 gallons and another 6 in the hot water heater. With two of us, it still lasts quite a while even taking showers.

    Securing "Floating" Bed Platform

Hi Vickie! I have an interesting thought for you <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> How about some rare earth magnets? You could epoxy them to the wood and either epoxy or screw(may require holes, *gasp*!!) a few pieces of metal (ferrous of course) to the...
