Anyone want to do the Dempster Highway, Yukon/NWT July 2019?

Also should include if anyone is going to be in BC first half of July or in Alaska in August, might also like to catch up with anyone that might be in the region. My plan will be pretty jam packed with activities on the way up to Alaska. Total trip will be about 8 weeks.

Anyone want to do the Dempster Highway, Yukon/NWT July 2019?

Anyone want to do the Dempster Highway, Yukon/NWT July 2019? I'm thinking about leaving Dawson City, YK around July 12. There is arts festival in Inuvik https://www.gnaf.org I might take one of the classes (schedule not available yet).   and as of last year, the road goes all the way to the...

WOMEN ONLY!!! Trolls, Haters, and Channels dedicated to them

I dreamed of blogging for years and I finally started a blog over a year ago (mostly travel based, very little van camping content) and it's rough. I've only made about $50 this year in affiliate sales, no where near enough to even cover my domain and blog hosting costs. It's difficult to gain...

First time at RTR this year?

Another first timer here. Heading down from Seattle area. Will be in So Cal, AZ, NM, NV for most of December. May look for one of the caravans but I'd like to get over to NM and visit friends in UT maybe. This will by far be my longest time in the van - only did 3 weeks before.

    Women Only: Pre-WRTR plans?

What is everyone doing for New Years? I was thinking about going to Vegas. Park in a P&R and bus in. Also, I've been trying to find an answer, but for those of us van camping without a toilet, what do we do at the RTR? Normally I would look for a place with a pit toilet, or dig a hole...

    Wyoming free camping in campgrounds

I went thru Wyoming in May and liked the free city campground at Lovell. Free glorious showers! You're only supposed to stay 3 nights but there were a few rigs that looked like they were there for longer. Not a lot of spaces. Will stay here again if I'm in the area. From here, it's close...

Oregon Coast Get Together on the Oregon Coast July 24 2018

One more question - I don't see this discussed - seems the pads are 30-50' deep, so is there chance that those of us van camping could at least share a space for the $15? I'm in a mini-van (transit connect). But maybe we need to register the car when we enter & pay - then it's questionable...

buying land to make a new truly free place

I've had this idea bopping around in my head. Property to be in a state with no income tax. The place would be an early retirement home. There'd be a hostel, a couple dorms & private rooms. Full Kitchen, shared bathrooms. And some campsites, with and without hookups, maybe only sprinter van...

    National Grasslands

If anyone is visiting Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota, there's a large grasslands between the north and south units. I didn't camp there - camped in the park ($7 pre-season rate because the water wasn't turned on).

Women Only: Where to spend December?

I am finishing a cruise in Los Angeles on Dec 3rd and have until January 1 to return to Seattle.  Any recommendations - probably So Cal or Arizona.  Would love to do Baja but would like to do in a year I have more time. Bonus if there's a good place to spend Christmas not on my own.

Oregon Coast Get Together on the Oregon Coast July 24 2018

How many days do people typically stay for this?  Due to work commitment, I need to pass on a work project early morning July 25th, so I could be to Tilamook by evening of the 25th.  Wondering if it's worth it if I miss a day.

    Female from Seattle

I made it back to Seattle.  Really loving the van life - camped for two weeks.  Bed is so comfy.   I found lots of free campgrounds, and got stuck with an expensive "swamp" in Yellowstone. Hot flashes - not quite yet.  I started a travel blog over a year and a half ago and thought...

    Female from Seattle

I'm just starting out... had 10 days on the road so far.  On my way back to Seattle over the next 2 weeks. My rig:  Transit Connect Cargo van.  My brother helped me build a bed and got a 30x75 bed from Amazon.  Don't have a lot of other gear. Had some good luck doing some free or cheap camping...
