How few Watts of solar to charge a 55 Amp/Hr AGM in 5 days?

Oops, sorry, forgot that little detail.   A single, 12V Power Sonic AGM. Thanks all for the replies.  Good to know what I'll need to make it work.   I also have the option of bringing the battery home and plugging it into a smart charger all week, but it's a pain, literally, to lug that thing...

How few Watts of solar to charge a 55 Amp/Hr AGM in 5 days?

Let me explain.   I've got a 55 Amp Hour AGM battery that I'd like to charge with the smallest panel that will work.   I'll have 5+ days (weekdays, plus possibly one weekend day) each week to recharge the battery between uses (weekends only, and only a couple of hours).   Back when SternWake...

Do I no longer need the physical address once I get a DL?

Thanks, but if I move out of my apartment, I'm not going to have the lease form anymore.   :s Given so many people are being forced out of their homes, for a variety of reasons, and moving into their vehicles as a last resort to stay out of homeless encampments, it's too bad the government...

Do I no longer need the physical address once I get a DL?

Trust is not an issue.  This guy has been one (if not the #1) of my best friends ever, for the last 15 years.  Oh, and I won't be on the road.  I still have to work full-time (if we ever get past this pandemic stuff), so I figured I'd just get a PO box and have my bills sent there.  You...

Do I no longer need the physical address once I get a DL?

I was hoping that I could just have my cell phone account changed to the new address, and use that to prove where I live, should I be asked to show documentation.   I have a valid passport, and those don't show a home address, so I think I'm good there. Would that be sufficient?

Do I no longer need the physical address once I get a DL?

This is exactly what I'm trying to do.  I just need someone with infinite amounts of patience to explain how it works, as if they were talking to a small child.  :P I have a friend who will let me use their address as my own.  I just don't know what the steps are to make it happen so that it...

Do I no longer need the physical address once I get a DL?

Bump... Well, it looks like my friend is perfectly OK with letting me use his home address as my own. He said I don't have to pay for the favor, but I want to. I don't feel right asking for something that isn't his responsibility to provide, especially over a long period of time. I also...

I just got kicked out of my boondocking spot

Yup, I've got a key safe bolted to the frame of my van for just such an unpleasant experience.   It's not super easy to get at, but then that's probably a good thing.  I don't keep it there all the time.  Just when on road trips or camping, when I know I'll be in and out of the back a lot and...

Do I no longer need the physical address once I get a DL?

+ + + Perhaps I should have asked, "How can I get around the legal requirements so I can make this happen?" + + +

Looking for a compact fan to mount in a door

Lately I've been leaving the front (driver and passenger roll-down) windows down about two inches, instead of the the sliding, side windows in the doors.  I have fabric covers over them, made of indoor/outdoor carpet, and they're not directly next to the bed, like the sliders are, so it's less...

Looking for a compact fan to mount in a door

Thanks! So far simply leaving a sliding window or two open seems to be working OK, though I would like to close them if I could. Do the DampRid systems work if the van is closed up tight on a cold, damp night, or do you use them in combination with open windows and fans?

Self Inflating mattresses when used full time

I use an Ikea futon mattress in my van.  They're not a single, queen-sized piece of foam, but two separate pieces of very firm foam in their own zippered covers.  They're connected to each other with a cloth "hinge" so they fold into a couch, if needed.  I just made a new bed platform for my...

Do I no longer need the physical address once I get a DL?

I live and work in California, and moving away isn't going to happen for a while.   ________________________________________________________________ Is the requirement for a physical address only for DL purposes, or do I need it for general citizenship and legal life on the streets?   I might...

I'm not familiar with those.  Got a link?

Looking for a compact fan to mount in a door

It looks like just opening the sliding windows was enough...  No fan needed.  I just spent the last week sleeping in my van, and only the inside of the windshield and a little bit of of the metal immediately above the sliding windows showed any signs of moisture.  No more drips from the...

Looking for a compact fan to mount in a door

I'm not sure what the filler in my ancient, rectangular sleeping bag is, but I know it's not down, so the plan is to sleep in my Marmot 15 degree, synthetic bag and cover that with my old bag if it gets cold. I'll add a wool blanket to my shopping list for tomorrow though, thanks. I'm hoping...

Heating Pad to stay Warm - Nice

An old member of this board, SternWake, used to rave about his 12V heating pad, saying it was super warm and used almost no power to run. He didn't run it all night, just before getting into bed, as body heat generally warms up a bed anyway. Eventually I hope to get a much larger van with...

Looking for a compact fan to mount in a door

I'm 6'-4.5", but thanks, I plan to go to "MalWart" once Black Friday is safely past and gone and the insane crowds have found someplace else to congregate.  :P

Looking for a compact fan to mount in a door

Thanks!  Just last night I was discussing with my brother the shortcomings of using down in wet climates, because of their tendency to become soggy and useless if the moisture level is high.   I was about to order this...

Looking for a compact fan to mount in a door

I have a XL Marmot synthetic bag that's rated at 15*, but I've never liked the way you have to sleep in your birthday suit for a synthetic bag to work properly.  I'm also not a huge fan of mummy bags because they're too cramped, even when they're XL.   I also have an old fashion, and very old...
