    Truckers

Most truckers I have met/known are really nice hard working guys. Probably the only way they would report you is if you irritated them, parked in the big rig spots, or looked/acted really suspicious. Remember; they are used to living in a tight space on the road too -- you have more in common...

what are your daily routines..do u ever get bored?

Hmm, exploring new places, taking photos, reading, checking out new library's, learning the history of the area I am in, metal detecting, gold prospecting, rock hunting, exercise and fresh air, writing a few books, and anything else that sounds interesting. -- I could live 1,000 years and not...

Even If I had the Money, I'd prefer a Van over an Expensive RV

I've had a few RV's a 34-foot motorhome, a couple of older travel trailers, a new travel trailer, and a Toyota mini-motorhome, and I'm just now working on my cargo van, but from what I can already tell and from my experiences with RVs over the years, I would take the van. Why? Several reasons...

Walmart parking lot shooting could have some far reaching effects

I drove through Cottonwood (AZ) and they have the city ordinance signs that prohibit overnight parking/camping in Walmart now. Plenty of BLM land nearby though. But sadly, this is probably going to become a trend, more restrictive parking ordinances, which will make it harder for urban dwellers...

    Money Matters?

Try Craigslist under the Help Wanted section -- sometimes there are quick ways to bring in a few bucks. Last year on a three-week trip up in Colorado I made $100 helping someone (moving out), and another $40 in just two hours helping someone else clean a house before the guy showed it to a...

    Installing a Wall

If you are going to use cardboard to make a template you don't have to buy any (in my experience) -- just head to your local appliance or furniture store and ask if they have any cardboard they don't want -- I've gotten quite a bit for free that way for different projects over the years.

Questions on Insulating Sliding and Rear Doors

Thanks for the great ideas and information -- if anyone else has any ideas, feel free to toss them out there! I've been reading this site for a couple of months before registering and posting, as I wanted to learn as much as I could by reading before I started asking questions. I’ve taken...

Another Walmart RV Shooting, Salem Oregon

I drove through Cottonwood (AZ) and they have the city ordinance signs that prohibit overnight parking/camping in Walmart now. Plenty of BLM land nearby though. But sadly, this is probably going to become a trend, more restrictive parking ordinances, which will make it harder for urban dwellers.

Help needed in calculating my power needs

I would rather figure on the high side than the low side on the fan, and everything else. The electric razor is just like any other you plug in to recharge after using it, -- the specs are long worn off, as it's old but reliable. But being old it needs to stay plugged in or it won't hold a...

Questions on Insulating Sliding and Rear Doors

I’ve read a lot of threads on insulating in here, but what I haven’t read (or simply missed), is how to insulate the doors on a van? My cargo van has the two traditional rear doors, with windows, and a sliding side door (no window.) The walls are pretty easy from all of the threads I have read...

Help needed in calculating my power needs

I'm wondering how much solar power/battery I will need. I want to go with a sealed AGM battery, one if possible. I will give what I will need etc so we're not shooting in the dark (and it's something I want to avoid being left in!) I would include more details, but I cannot find my Kill-A-Watt...
