Chevy G20 dashboard has VOLTS lit up

Hey all! I just picked up a sweet Chevy G20 van, it needed a new battery so we got one, and now it runs well and starts on cue.  Issue is, from the moment we drove her, with the initial battery and also once the new one was installed, the word VOLTS is lit up next to the battery icon on the...

Found her, now I need to get her!

I was scared of jinxing it! She's red, white, and tufted all over. Had no problems on the 200 mile return journey and handled 75 mph admirably (but much preferred 55!). The seatbelts need fixing up, the rear door wouldn't lock (currently zip tied closed) and the steering pulls to the left...

Found her, now I need to get her!

He's not a smart man with technology, he had his sister put the CL ad up and respond to emails, but now she's back to work in another state (she was only visiting for the weekend). The DMV assured me it would be fine with the power of attorney copy. We're heading out in about 35 minutes, so I'm...

    Hmmm... Blazing?

Woah, sounds like you handled that superbly! I might have to borrow the line about the speedo calibration...

Found her, now I need to get her!

I called the seller, I'm not entirely sure he understood the importance of what I was saying, but he said he might have it somewhere. He doesn't text or email, so the chances of him being able to operate a photocopier are minimal. I guess I'll have to plan to escort him to the DMV on Tuesday...

Found her, now I need to get her!

Ok, here's what the DMV said: Husband: - Sign his name as seller on back of "by executor" - Copy of the letter of testamentary - notary seal - Bill of sale OR just amount (seller price) on back of title - No death certificate if went through probate

There is but they close at 5pm, and we don't meet until 7pm when they finish work.

Found her, now I need to get her!

The title is in his deceased wife's name, I'm going to check with him and the DMV tomorrow, but I'm not sure the deal there? I'm worried what I'm reading is true, that he has the right to transfer title to him, but that he can't just sell it with dead wife's name on it. I'm quite stressed about...

Found her, now I need to get her!

The consensus seems like 1 is easiest, and I'm inclined to agree. Also, I now realize that it's better for me to have company, given that I'm going to a farm in a town with like 500 people with a lot of cash and no phone service...

Found her, now I need to get her!

Thank you thank you! I had entertained that idea, I have no idea on installing a battery, but I could learn. How do I figure out what type I'd need? There's a V8 5.0L 525CCA AT and a V8 5.0L 540CCA Optional.... what do those numbers mean and how do I get them from my vehicle if it's not on the...

Found her, now I need to get her!

Friend has a truck, so while the mpg might be worse than a rental car, the cost will even out. I think we're going to have her drive her car and then drive in convoy home. Hell, maybe we can CB-radio chat on the way back :D

Thank you. I think so too. It's just so many moving parts and which is stressing me out. Deep breaths, time to realize this will be fine. Good plan on the pre-book, I'll look into that as an option too.

Found her, now I need to get her!

I've found my van, had her checked out by a mechanic, I'm more than satisfied with the price, and we've verbally agreed on a sale. I'm allowing myself tempered excitement until I bring her home. Thing is, she's 198 miles from my Knoxville home, in Petersburg TN, and I'm meant to be collecting...

    Considering this van

They don't have the info as it was from the previous owner, but says it was drivable and the mechanic said the engine and workings still seemed in excellent condition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
