When I actually go to a doc, I'll let you know.
Meanwhile I pay egregious amounts of $$$ for healthcare that I never use. Last spring I got shingles, and seriously thought I was going to die in the wilderness, but then when I learned what it was (via internet research) I tried to get an appointment with a doc on my plan (one state over)... but that would take too long to do any good. My nephew who works in the medical biz suggested I find a clinic... which I'd have to pay cash for... but at least I could get a prescription. Further research suggested it was already too late, so... fork it.
My suggestion is to be poor (if you don't have a child in the biz like INTJohn) and not have any HC at all (unless you can get expanded Medicaid which will likely end soon), and either throw yourself on the mercy of the state for indigents, or go to Mexico. Next year I'll have Medicare, and that is at least nationwide and sorta free, which should be better.
