    AGM Charging Fun

Thanks highdesertranger! I ran it overnight and it appears I spoke a little too soon however the point still stands. The voltage came up veeeerrrry slowly but it took a couple hours. That's fine if I'm charging overnight but if I want to run a generator with this charger for a while and keep...

    AGM Charging Fun

Hey all! About a year ago I switched over to a pair of 6V AGM deep cycles. https://gpelectric.com/products/6-volt-sun-cycle-agm-solar-battery/ So far my solar has kept them running fine but since winter has set in I've had to turn elsewhere to recharge them. It's the coldest it's been on the...

    2001 Chevrolet Express 2500 - "Chief Dave"

I think they just jiggled the tumbler. Those old locks can be opened with another key sometimes. I had checked everything the evening before and am 99% certain I locked and checked the doors before walking away but there's always that 1%. At least I didn't have a broken window or busted lock to...

    2001 Chevrolet Express 2500 - "Chief Dave"

Yeah, that was the first thing I did as there was lots of stuff they left behind and I was worried they might return. Took my granola bars though and ate a couple / left wrappers on my bed which felt pretty invasive. There were lots of things I could have done better so I just want to do what I...

    2001 Chevrolet Express 2500 - "Chief Dave"

Not really a build update but I will be looking into security upgrades for the van soon after being broken into whilst parked in the city. Both my bikes were stolen plus a few other things. Of course I'm pretty bummed out and it definitely puts a damper on how I feel about having things / being...

    2001 Chevrolet Express 2500 - "Chief Dave"

galladanb: I moved into the van today and relinquished my apartment keys after a couple of hectic days. Now all is calm so I should be able to get you those pictures soon!

    2001 Chevrolet Express 2500 - "Chief Dave"

I'm now 1 week away from moving in! I feel like I've held onto my rented apartment longer than I would like but at the same time it's been necessary up until now. Still have slightly cold feet but I think the biggest reason for that is just having everything in the van and constantly worrying...

    Van suspension setup

Load for the tires is 3100lbs. Last inflation was done at a tire place following a screw in one tire to 55psi at the front and 80psi at the rear. To be honest the build is done and the only things to go in are a couple of bikes so an extra 60lbs max. Interesting to hear that factory...

    Van suspension setup

Tires are 245/75R16 Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT2 which are a winter tire. Shocks are old as (probably the originals) but bumps aren't the issue.

    Van suspension setup

Just wanted to have a little brainstorm and share some (novice) thoughts here about suspension setup for vans. My basis is a 2001 Chevy Express 2500 which right now has about 2 inches of extra space between the tire and wheel arch at the rear than at the front. (±6" at the rear / ±4" gap at the...
