Nature Lover and friends keep in touch

Nature Lover, I hope your hospital stay is going well, and the second surgery was successful. I'm also an introvert. I leave next week, heading to the Quartzsite area. As my plans are now, I'll be arriving there on the last day of the RTR. But I don't plan to attend it. I probably would have...

Anyone use TPMS (TireMinder type system)?

I may have not been clear in my original post. In the situation I described it was the tire pressure warning light that lit up, not the "TPMS" system error light. I don't know about the problems the other person has mentioned. My system worked okay, except when I had some third party wheels...

a safe place to take along when I have to go

I looked at that book listing on Amazon, and read the excerpts available there. I don't believe the author had MCS. She had suffered from illnesses caused by exposure to mold, and had sensitivities to mold and "biotoxins." But as far as I could tell, she didn't have adverse reactions or...

Things to do to keep feeling "normal" while living out of your van?

I'm sorry you're feeling somewhat lonely and isolated. I get it. I'm not a big joiner by nature, but neither am I a hermit. One of my challenges as an adult has been dealing with changes in my group of friends and making new friends. By pursuing some of my genuine interests, I've connected...

Anyone use TPMS (TireMinder type system)?

I agree. In the situation I posted above, it was a matter of just a few minutes - I think less than five! - between the light coming on and the blowout, but that was enough to make a difference for me. Whatever the tire picked up that ruined it, was so small that I never felt any kind of bump...

Anyone use TPMS (TireMinder type system)?

I don't do trailers. but was skeptical of the value of the TPMS systems on my late-model vehicles. Thought they were just one more silly finicky thing that could go wrong and need fixing. Until one fine day in November 2021. Driving the interstate 100 miles from home in my Honda minivan, I saw...

    poo pellets??!!

Yes. I'm happy using the Tractor Supply horse bedding pine pellets, in a bucket. Well, it's a fancy bucket that folds up for storage with a decent seat on it. I line it with 8 gallon trash bags, you can find them at stores without too much trouble. This set-up passed, with flying colors, my...

    Trailer towing gone sadly wrong

Thanks for your thoughtful and informed reply. As you said, sometimes things go bad from just bad luck. I live and mostly travel in states that often experience high winds (CO, TX, NM). Just what I've seen on the highways in windy conditions has kept me from seriously considering getting a...

    Trailer towing gone sadly wrong

I couldn't find a perfect place for this subject. I haven't made friends with the search function on this forum, but found some Q&A and discussion threads about choosing a vehicle to tow X kind of trailer. They were in the Truck or Van subjects mostly. Anyway, I was just wondering if I'm too old...

    Wiener crossed the rainbow bridge

I'm so sorry. Our furkids snuggle right into our hearts, and we miss them so much when they go. Lily was much loved and you gave her such a good life. May your memories be a comfort.

Nature Lover and friends keep in touch

@nature lover - I haven't been on this forum for awhile. I started looking for an update on your status after I logged on today. I'm sending you good thoughts and my prayers, such as they are. It's good that you are being treated and starting to regain strength. I'm not bipolar but understand...

    Speaking to my heart

Hi again. I've been absent from this forum for a few months; it's good to catch up on the discussions today. Have been on the road a bit, and am sketching out travel plans for later this year. I want to spend more time in Southern NM, for one thing. Had a nice time, though brief, in the White...

    New Mexico

Wow, @Mattkcc - it's good that you got out of Chaco in the nick of time. I'm here to endorse your advice to stay away, if at all possible, from areas getting high winds. I've hit the road twice in the last six weeks - and encountered high winds both times. In the Texas Panhandle, and throughout...

    New Mexico

I didn't see it mentioned above, and it's right in the Deming, Silver City, Faywood area: City of Rocks State Park. I've stayed there a couple of times; it's worth a visit IMO even if you don't camp there.
