I got 4-inch foam from Joann’s, which I cut to the length I needed. I covered that with a waterproof “outdoor cushion” cover. It’s been surprisingly comfortable.

Checking in to share my car insurance surprise! I sold my house in Oregon last summer. My current residence is in the same state where a friend and his wife own a home. (It is currently important for me to keep my doctor, though I may reconsider this shortly.)

I did tint, which I love and wish I'd done years ago. My window covers are Reflectix covered with matte black fabric, so not shiny. This does eliminate any reflectiveness, but with the tint there wasn't much of that.
Interesting – from my own experience, Oregon has very high fees. My car registration is $260 or so for 2 years (state + county). Had a BIL move up from CA and was astounded at the fees. As you said, we have no sales tax and gotta get the $$ from somewhere...
Yes, ex is a spectacularly talented graphic designer who has been working in the field since college. He has been unable to find work in his profession (freelance and not) and it is killing him.
I was definitely feeling that in the early days. Like, OK, what's different except that everyone else is doing it too?

I was planning on signing up with Planet Fitness (~$20/month) but just found out that I may be able to get access to those facilities and many more through my health insurance for ~$25/month. Seems like an interesting option.
