    Smokey Mountain Cell Coverage

Thank you! I have the YAGI antenna and pole in my amazon cart with a wifi router that I can attach the antenna to directly. I hope it will work. If not, I may have to find wifi to work. The other thing I am trying to figure out is if solar will give me anything that time of year in Cades Cove...

    Brown Recluses

I LOVE the jumpers. We have them all over Alabama. Did you ever notice that when you wear a headlamp at night you can see their eyes. They are bright green. It is actually really beautiful (and shocking how many they are if you look across a field!)

Yeah, we are that guy too! We ended up changing trailers! But, this new one was a major upgrade. Still not new, but also no water damage.

    Smokey Mountain Cell Coverage

Hi all! I am going to be in Cades Cove in the Smokey Mountains in October. I am putting together a cell router and exterior antenna package right now, but I am worried that even with an external antenna I won't be able to work (I am a teacher). Has anyone tried getting signal in Cades Cove? Do...

    Brown Recluses

I want to get a jumping spider - or 10. They are supposed to be smart, and basically kill all other spiders if they need to. But are also harmless to people. That or burn down the rig.

    Brown Recluses

I get it! My friends think I am crazy for taking the measures we are to seal the camper after treating it, and wearing gloves they can't bite through when fixing it up, but these are little demon spiders! And hard to kill ones at that! But then again, most of my friends think I am crazy for...

    Brown Recluses

This is a great idea! I like what someone said a bit farther down too about pulling the trailer to somewhere without other houses. Right now the camper is pulled up on the street in front of our house. Luckily the neighbors think the project is cool and are fine with it being there while we...

    Brown Recluses

So we bought a camper and are renovating it this summer. We opened the sides, are replacing the water damage and are going to hit the road in July. But during our peel back, we realized we have brown recluses. Anyone had this issue? We bought this dust to put behind the walls and a spray for the...

    Solar noob with upcoming plunge

Stinky Slinky, haha. I'm also older now (when did that happen!!), and having a bathroom in the middle of the night is not the worst thing. I agree, tx2sturgis, that a combo of mounted and flex would be ideal. Not least in the summer when it would be better to park in the shade.

    Solar noob with upcoming plunge

Thank you all! I will start to figure out the actual usage. I love the idea of borrowing a kill a watt meter. I figured the AC was not really an option, and I may not even miss it. I feel like such a noob with the entire rig's system. For example, I am considering do I even want to keep the...

    Solar noob with upcoming plunge

Hi all! I am a solar noob and trying to figure out how much I need to add to our build. I have an 18' RV. We will have the following: *RV fridge (also runs on propane) *2 gaming laptops for video editing - possible an iMac for editing *camera batteries to charge *charge cell phones  *LED lights...

    New Build for VR Doc

Not sure what happened to the photo earlier. And yeah, they did use spray foam on the outside. We have a lot of work to do!

    New Build for VR Doc

Hi all! LONG time lurker on Bob's YouTube channel, and kind of recently found the wealth of info here. After 2 years of following the RV life channels, I pulled the trigger and got my own rig last week. It is a vintage 18' (not really sure of the brand - I added a picture). I'm working on...

    Not all who wander...

Hi all! Long time YouTube watcher, but just now getting in a place I can jump with both feet. I've always traveled. My parents took me and my brother on rendezvous and road trips before I could walk. We would spend summers in our tee-pee, and travel there in the back of my dad's old GMC Jimmy...
