33-year-old woman who tried the nomadic lifestyle and ended up broke

I think if you buy a $5,000.00 vehicles you're buying repairs. It depreciates every second. If pushed into it I could live in the SUV rig I have tricked out for camping but have found it boring. It seems this is not a sustainable life with no happy ending. I live in Mexico on $500.00 month...

    The $1000 mark

I don't know what we put in. Likely 220 since that already set up for washer dryer. Lifes pretty easy. I enjoy waking up without a worry in the world. Except cooking up ribs for superbowl party and Sonoran ribeyes a bit later.

    The $1000 mark

In the summer the humidity is brutal. I put a mini split on my unit as has just about everyone else. In summer the ac is on 24/7. Of course the electric bill is only $50.00 in summer so its no big deal.

Great idea. Theres room for you to park here over night. I can have Jose take you to the parks you may be interested in.

    The $1000 mark

Thats an awesome build! I use a 2003 dodge durango for camping. Ripped out back seats and put in a platform with storage under. I don't go out long, just days at a time BLM etc. My needs are minimal and I have everything I need.

Hello all...I could use a word of encouragement

I find that you can reliably predict the future by past relevant behavior. I think the only safe place for you is to explore social services. Section 8 housing and habitat for humanity. Theres also food pantries etc as well as social programs. I am not being demeaning to you. Hitting the road...

Also I'm very curious to hear about why people live a van life. If there were other options would you take it? Were you forced into it...

Living in Mexico on less than $500.00 a month.

After seeing a little interest in my comments on this site and others regarding living in Mexico I decided to put together a quick blog post and leave links to my instagram and Youtube channel that gives highlights to a lifestyle other than sticks and bricks. Maybe this will be helpful. If I get...

    The $1000 mark

Theres a bunch. Cost is usually $2200.00 a year. I live in a small compound and we have out own electric boxes so its cheap. RV parks usually include some electric, but theres a limit. I'm a short walk to the Sea of Cortez. In the summer, just like Phoenix, it brutally hot and humid. Other than...

    The $1000 mark

Now that is an interest and bucket list. I am considering heading to Ensenada for the summer and playing beach bum. San Diego weather. New Mexico sounds good.

    The $1000 mark

I'm not quite van life. I need a bit more security for dogs and me. I put a 30 foot 5th wheel in a small RV park in Puerto Penasco Mexico, 4 hours from Phoenix AZ. The idea was to have a home base to come back to while I travel after retirement. I have no interest in another $3000.00 mortgage so...

"America the beautiful" pass. worth it for me?

I use it. As a disabled vet the lifetime membership is $10.00. The parks I've stayed in have amazing areas to camp in, but yes, you have to stop and pay $10.00 camp site fee.

We lost a lot of ground around Flagstaff this year

I know this place. Bob Wells did a V log on it a few years ago. I'm right down the road in Rocky Point Mexico. Started out with a 30 foot 5th wheel weekend getaway in a small park with other weekenders. Now retired living here full time. Just a quad or bike ride to the beach. $154.00 a month...

    Don't be this guy!

What I found interesting is the $1,000.00 fine the Park Service handed out to two people videoing in a national park without first getting a permit. A quick glimpse at the rules it seems if done without intent to monetize the video, no permit is needed. Does that mean all Youtubers with a...
