Upgrading - Add 2 new batteries with 2 3year used or buy 4 new

Batteries should always be of the same brand, same age, same capacity. Adding new ones to an older system means that the old batteries will be a drain on the new ones and cause problems.

Go On the Road or ..

Guest ranches hire cooks seasonally, usually 5-7 months at a time, including accommodation and food. No expenses for that time (bar insurance and phone) and enough money to get through the other 5-7 months. Really good deal for a good cook. Can work in autumn/winter/spring in AZ, NM etc or...

Can F250 Bed Loops Be Used For Tie-Downs?

Pictures of what you are talking about. Are they part of the bed and attached to the bed, or attached to the frame.

There comes a time in every RV's life...

I did something similar...gave up any hope of the re-sale value...to do what I wanted. I installed fabric on the walls of the RV and painted the walls of the bathroom. I ripped out the jack-knife couch and removed the dinette. I added a proper love-seat couch and a 2-person table with two chairs...

    Hello from Seattle, Washington

Probably. I'm with friends here, waiting to get my truck in the shop to fix an issue that should have been fixed last year. After that I'm going to explore Washington a bit, come back here for their kids' birthday, head out again, come back for a bit then hit up a wedding in June, then hit the PCT.

    Hello from Seattle, Washington

I'm currently just south of you in Yelm. I actually left Arizona Feb 1st as I hated the constant yellow and brown and nothing that felt like seasons. Not sure what kind of truck you are looking for but mine will be up for sale in a few months as I am moving back to the UK and can't take her with...

    52 Mondays

52 Mondays and I have reached my last Monday twice in that time, and then sold the RV and booked a flight to the UK for October to move back there permanently It's crazy what can happen in a year

Almost sold the RV and ended my nomad life today.

I just sold mine. The sky wasn't falling...it was just time for something different. Will still be a nomad for a while, traveling in my truck and either boondocking or staying with friends for a few months before heading back to the UK.

Chevy 2wd Crew Cab V8 What can I tow?

1500, 2500 or 3500? That would tell us a lot. 1500's are limited in their towing capacity. You can pretty much tow anything on the market under 30ft with a 2500 and above weight-wise

    Advise please on Ford F250

Things I noted in your post: 1) DON'T touch the deposit you are given by any renter you have....put it aside and pretend it doesn't exist in a savings account somewhere. You don't want to have them give you notice and suddenly you don't have the money to give back to them.  2) Solar is pretty...

What blog posts did you find useful?

Thank you for your words. Sorry to hear your days of backpacking the Sierras are numbered...I got excited today by my first view of them and some day want to thru-hike the PCT. I will keep all your suggestions in mind...and yes, I write about my mistakes as they are often the most useful.

What blog posts did you find useful?

Thank you for your kind words. As an author of fantasy fiction books it is definitely in my best interests to have good spelling and grammar...and that carries over to my blog. It helps that I grew up with an English professor as my father! I don't do drama...I want to share my experiences and...

    Booster seat/restraint as dog grows

My dogs would kill me if I did that to them. They ride in the back of the truck!

After spending the last week in Nevada...I concur...not a damned thing out here. I was so excited to get to a place that had trees though. Death Valley...as much as I hate the desert I had an amazing time there.
