Converting a pop open van window, to a stationary window

Hey all,  I want to install floor to ceiling insulation and wall along the driver side wall of my van, covering the window. The issue is that the driver side window I want to cover up has pop open handles that would prevent me from doing the installation. Is there any way to convert this to a...

    Northeast High Top Conversions

just got this response from TCI on their price increase: "Yes, those prices were in the past when the E Series was still being produced, and even for a time period afterwards. As of the beginning of this year, we have substantially raised the prices on E Series roof top conversions, because we...

    Northeast High Top Conversions

I just got quoted over 6000 by TCI for a 24" high top on a standard wheelbase ford econoline. Just wondering how you all got quotes that were half of mine? Who did you speak to at TCI?

    Cabin / Interior heights

Thanks so much for that detailed reply!  unfortunately long island has several bridges on parkways that are as low as 7'6"!!! I'm going to have to rethink some of my routes.

    Cabin / Interior heights

Would you say generally speaking that a 24" high top on a ford E-series will leave someone 5'11" enough room to stand? I don't want to get a 34" because there are a lot of low overpasses in new york, and I think the smaller the van can be, the better, but I do want to be able to stand. If I have...

    Northeast High Top Conversions

I've been doing research on this for the last couple of months, but it seems like there's nowhere in the northeast that will install a high top. I've found people talk about cycle-van in NJ (but they don't do them anymore or are out of business). There's that one place in north Carolina that...

    attaching subfloors and permanent furniture

Hey, I've watched countless vanlife construction videos on youtube and done my fair share of reading on the subject, but no one seems to ever talk about how to actually fasten your subfloor / cabinets. I've seen one or two examples of people using glue to attach a subfloor, but no one ever...

replacement bolts for ford E-150 bench seat brackets

I had to pick them up for an inflated price on ebay because they're on backorder from ford.

replacement bolts for ford E-150 bench seat brackets

All I know is they're rubberized to prevent rusting (it doesn't seem to work because the ones in my van were basically disintegrating). I'm wondering if it would invalidate an insurance claim if I didn't have OEM bolts.

replacement bolts for ford E-150 bench seat brackets

I want to replace my old (quite rusty) bolts with new ones before I put down my subfloor, but I can't find anyone selling them online. I found one set of 4 on ebay for $60, which seems crazy for four bolts. Does anyone know where I can track these down? I would like them to be new so they stand...

Removable Rear Captains Chair with Hidden Mount

The seat will absolutely be for using while driving. Why else would I go through all the trouble of bolting it in place? Ideally I can find a seat with an integrated seat belt. I don't know how to weld, have no equipment to do so, and have not the slightest clue where to go to get something...

Removable Rear Captains Chair with Hidden Mount

I've been thinking about my van build, and I would really like to have a removable 3rd seat incorporated into the design. I've done a bit of research, and as far as I can tell, there seems to be little to no precedent for a removable seat that leaves the the floor level when removed (no...
