    Dodge Ram High Top?

Thank you! I definitely will get it inspected, if I go. It's just further away than I'd like to go (with a toddler) so was wondering if anyone would convince me out of it and save me the trip. :-)

    Dodge Ram High Top?

Thank you. He said he had it looked at at Firestone and they said it's surface rust, they could fix it if he wanted, but he chose not to. I guess I wonder even if it is surface rust, once you fix something like that, will it continue to spread? Even if what can be seen is fixable, is this...

    Dodge Ram High Top?

Hi there, I'm wondering what you think of this vehicle. There is some surface rust underneath. Apparently it is just surface rust. Thoughts? Thank you. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/208776190413133/?ref=messenger_banner

I have thought about a cargo van and step van and am now coming around to a shorter school bus, maybe you were right highdesertranger! Mainly I am imagining us being out there and it being a rainy evening....where do you go when it’s rainy and you have kids in a van??  I know a short school bus...

That about covers it, thanks Bullfrog!

Why not more hitop handicap conversions?

Wondering why I don’t see more conversions of this type of vehicle. Maybe there’s something I’m missing. The height appeals and you could probably sell the lift. This one is a 2007 Ford econoline e350 with 41k for 8k.

    Insurance in NY state

Hi there, I am thinking about going the route of a step van, box truck or school bus, but not yet sure if NY state allows commercial vehicles such as these to be insured as personal vehicles or rvs. Wondering if anyone has this info on NY. If it’s not possible I’ll keep to looking at cargo vans. O

Step vans and mechanical know how

So is the reason I see people with steps from the 80s the same as those with other older vehicles, that if you do know how to work on it yourself you can get a simpler, older vehicle? Not that older steps are more appealing than newer steps for some other reasons? I’m thinking about a small box...

Step vans and mechanical know how

Thanks. I have not heard of Quartzsite, will look into it. Are you saying they are easily serviceable by a mechanic? I was under the impression one should really fix em his or herself if going the step van route, or is that only older models? Also do you agree regular three hour drives (I live...

Step vans and mechanical know how

Thanks. The plan is to use the vehicle to get out of Brooklyn, NYC, so, regular 2-3 hour drives. I have a feeling a cargo is more for us at this point....the box shape and height and style is just so appealing. Don’t have a motorcycle but do have a 2 year old. :)

Step vans and mechanical know how

Hi there. I was thinking about getting a cargo van but am being lured by step vans. My question is, can someone with no mechanical know how and a small budget (at most 10k for vehicle and unclear but minimal budget for build and repairs) handle a step van? Or would I be in over my head/wallet?

    What could you build?

Yeah. Think I have just grown tired of looking at white Chevy cargo vans.

    What could you build?

This has me interested... 1973 Dodge Avenger “One of a Kind. This used to be a 1973 Dodge Motorhome... It's been rebuilt into a flatbed. 53000 MI. Starts right up. Reliable. Lots of new parts. The interior is all new wood.”
