I support it, just not directly. I indirectly support it by only buying organic food, and I'm not changing that anytime soon.

No experience, but was thinking it would figure into mobile, itinerant lifestyle.

Things have changed in my life a bit, and where I was thinking I would hit the road at the end of summer, I'm now thinking of staying in my current area for at least another year, maybe a couple.

Basically because of employment -- I've landed in a professional job I had before, doing less for more pay. What's not to like? Not being mobile, that's what...

Before getting back into publishing, I had pursued a career as a bicycle mechanic. Still something I do part time, still something I see myself doing in the future. Here in New England, however, bike season is summer, winter is dead.

My Van Plan was to involve mechanic jobs down south in the winter -- winter is FL biking season -- then mechanic jobs up north in the summer. In between, on both ends, leisurely 4-6 week migrations to include WWOOFing along the way. Save up some cash working through the summer and winter seasons, live with free room and board WWOOFing before returning back to a shop.

Once I cash out of current employment, I still figure I'll give WWOOF a try somewhere along the way.

I spent two summers (at age 8 & 9) working on a farm suckering tomatoes in a commercial field. I wouldn't want to work like that at my age.

I have friends that have done the wwoofing thing and have had both good and bad experiences. Google "wwoof reviews"

I have a friend who full-times who has done it. Some of the people you work for are great and want to teach and help you and it's a win-win. Some want slave labour. it all depends on who you chose to work with.

so i guess the draw here is the word "organic". i have worked in agriculture on and off my whole life. right now i run a cattle ranch. in the middle of the los angeles basin. one of the last ones in the area. i really don't understand the draw to this type of stuff. i briefly read over their website and can't see, why. you could do the same and get paid. organic or not. ken your in Anaheim do you want to see a cattle ranch? we are organic. highdesertranger
