Hi, I'm new to the forum and I'd love to meet up with some other women.  I have met lots of couples and single guys on the road, but so far,  only one other solo woman.    I'm a solo woman traveling the country in a class C.   Tomorrow, I head towards Lake Havasu, from Western OK and expect to be in that neck of the woods in early November.  I was thinking about Ehrenburg too since I've heard several folks mention it.  What is it that draws folks to Ehrenburg?  Anyone have any recommendations on where to camp?

Anybody at the blm area on here?   I’ll be there today.

I won't be in Ehrenberg until Jan 1. Looking forward to meeting up with you all!

I'm on my way :)  Just made it west of Albuquerque today and may sit tight for a few days to recover (found cheap full hookups at a casino).  Need to get some work done which doesn't seem to happen when on the road.  All my intentions to take photos and write isn't happening.

I also don't think driving is recharging the house battery.  Which is just another daily "fork over more money to mechanics" that the last month has been since I left the east coast - LOL.

Also need to figure the best route down if anyone has any suggestions....???

Looking forward to meeting other ladies - I'm afraid I've discovered I'm one of those that much prefers the company to others than herself - grin.

Hey bobble

You're almost there!  As far as the best route, when you get to Flagstaff, take I-17 south to the 101 and head west.  Take that to I-10 and head west to Ehrenberg.  Where the 101 meets the I-10, there's a Costco there if you're looking for cheap gas and have a membership.  Taking that route you miss the traffic going into downtown Phx.  I always try to avoid that route.

As far as your battery, have you checked your fuses?  Do you have a multimeter?  I've gotten into the habit of figuring things out myself to avoid the big expense of taking my rig into the RV shop.  What kind of rig do you have?  Maybe we can help you diagnose.

I'm heading to Quartzite and Ehrenberg next Tuesday on my way to the Glamis dunes...just checking those 2 sites out before the RTR...maybe we'll run into each other.

Hey Ms. Daisy -

I did make Ehrenberg - just in time for an AMAZING potluck put on by JiminDenver and GrannyJo and the other folks here.  Jim had out his solar ovens and had turkey, ham, yams, mashed potato and gravy, rolls, cornbread, corn, and more desserts than you can shake a stick at.  It was SO nice to be warmly welcomed after what has been an anxious time on the road from the east coast.  Another woman cooked last night - homemade tortillas, rice and peas and grilled veggies.  We are all enjoying getting to know each other.  It's a good group if you head this way after the dunes?  I understand the trick about this place is that the 14 day rule isn't enforced.  I'll still have to head in for supplies every week and to dump, etc.  but it sure is going to be nice to be in one place for awhile.  But as you know - HOT!  Juno is doing good though.  In the front cab I have inserts that are black on one side and silver on the other - so turned that around so the shiny side is out.  With the awnings out and vents up it's been tolerable for the furkids.  My solar panel has been delivering what I need but have to get a PO box and get some "real" solar and a new battery delivered.  At least one day this week is going to be cloudy so going to have to conserve.  And when it gets cooler if I need to run the furnace I need the extra oomph.  Right now the guys are trying to figure out how to cut my bike lock off.  I locked the bike to the ladder and I cannot find that key for love or money (groan).   They are hopefully gonna save me the cost of a locksmith call!

I think you sent me a PM, too - I'll respond to that in kind!  Thanks for the route tip - I ended up taking the 303 around and while 10 was uck (even on Thanksgiving - can't imagine it on a normal day) it was like that all the way here.  When I leave I'm going to try to find alternate routes and try to see more of the country.  I'm kicking myself a little for not spending more time seeing things since I'm taking the southern route back (and I know that - grew up on the gulf coast) but I was sick (I've had the flu hang on for three weeks now) and did have a few places I was trying to be.

Well doggie is looking for her walk - sun is up...gotta run!  Look forward to hooking up!

Glad you made it bobble!  I looked for you guys on Thanksgiving and couldn't find you so drove on to the dunes.

Hope to see you at the RTR:)
