Do whatever you need to do before you get going. It sure is a lot easier before you get on the road.

so true I am trying to get stuff delt with before I pull out of Kansas city sense my lawyer is here
and yes I am really nervous about doing this I have been locked in a house for 40 years and counting nothing left of my stuff  but those things that's the elephant in my room

Just this morning I was wondering what the average "lead time" is for vandwellers.
Some folks are probably on the road within a month of having the idea, while others prep for years and never leave the driveway.
Sounds like you are on the verge :)  Good luck to you!

Most changes are kind of scary -- You'll be fine after the First Big Step.

It took me three years to finally get on the road, once I got the bug...those three years felt like an eternity, but I kept researching, gathering ideas of what and how to do it...finally I just set a date and whether everything was done or not I(we) hit the road...some things got left behind once the van got loaded up and found we had no more room to fit it all in...but we were off...I haven't looked back since the day we left...

when I decided to live full-time on the road it was with a tent(9x12 canvas) and all the gear connected with that setup...that was 5 years ago now
since then I have upgraded to a larger van and only recently have quit using the tent to live in...it takes less time to get setup but not as roomy, but still doable...a continuing work in progress...

Some people have time to plan and get ready and some are just thrown into it by circumstances. For me I had a lot of time to plan and think about it. It took a while to downsize and do my build. I got my van just under two years ago and just went full time the beginning of this month. So for me it was a long time to plan and get ready. But I'm glad I had the time. Now that my van is mostly done I feel pretty comfortable in it. But I imagine it will be different for everyone.

If you have the time to get ready it is a luxury. I think the more time you can take to prepare the easier it will be when you make the leap. It was for me. The last two years also gave me lots of chances to do some urban and regular camping. I've taken plenty of short and long term trips so making the move to full time was a lot easier.

so true I really just want to be out of here before the snow and ice I need to quit setting times to go and just go

... stressed occupied mind + driving = a recipe for disaster.
The legal matter's?  As Larry The Cable Guy say's, " Get 'er Done ! "

well today I took the trailer out to a parking lot to try to learn how back it in both right and left I am not very good at it but I tried and finely figured it out now I hope it sticks in my head how to do this now

learning is a good thing I try to learn everyday I am a person that learns on my own I do better with out someone looking over my shoulder so that is I went to a parking lot to learn how to back a trailer into a spot it took me a lot of try's to do this it is not perfect but I am learning how to do this .

How are you doing on your progress on the launch?  Are you ready to go?

When you are backing up and you want the trailer to go straight, scan back and forth from your left and right mirrors and when you see the trailer starting to peek into one of the mirrors steer easy in that direction. I think most people when they start learning how to back up a trailer have a tendency to over correct. Practice practice practice and before long you'll be backing up like a pro and not even thinking about it. If you get a few free days on your hands you might wanna just go someplace and camp overnight. I posted this someplace else here on the site but I'll post it here again to give you something to think about. https://www.campendium.com/missouri/free-camping
