I don't recall seeing Rob around in a while. Anybody know what happened to him, or where he went?

A few days ago he was OK.  He asked that his membership here be deleted.  I think it's a shame.  He always had a kind word for others here.  Helped when he thought he could.  Always offered a meal to any tribe member passing by. I for one will miss the hell outta him.

I think it may have had something to do with the thread/posts re: Gurka soldier { I may not have spelled Gurka correctly}  I'm not for sure about that.  It's just what I think.

Whatever it was, something must have really pissed him off, because I'm pretty sure he enjoyed socializing with a lot of the people here.

Yes, I think it was the PC soldiers here who try to please everyone, and end up pleasing no one. Pity. He was a good guy -- I was looking forward to meeting him. Oh, well... still might.

Rob has asked me to pass on his info to those that PM me. Unfortunately he has allowed a situation to become more important than those he cared about and in turn cared about him. It's a pity.

and whats stopping him from making a new account? Jackknife Rob

lately a lot people are getting offended/butthurt or whatever over interweb post, kinda ridiculous if you ask me

the interwebs are like cb except they make you type,it's not really real
here is what most of use are like

Looks like Hepcat is also outta here. He had a lot of good info to share.

i don't get it,,why do people who join a forum that EXPRESSLY warns,,,NO POLITICAL stuff,,and then trys to politicize various threads,,,or bend them in that direction, get insulted when warned not to,,,,,always claiming their rights are being infringed? they have zillions of forums out there, and nobody forced them to be here.

Neither one of them said anything political that I know of

For clarification, Rob/gunny was not booted from the forum. It was his decision to leave.

I believe they both left for similar reasons. Both are veterans and I know that Hepcat was an LEO for 30 years which included stints as a Chief of Police. These aren't school kids and both were chastised publicly on the forum rather than a quiet nice word in a PM.

This is what I saw as well. Both are very intelligent people. Too bad, they have a lot to offer in their own area's of expertise.

Aw bummer. I sure liked both of them. Maybe they will be back after they have had time away?

Sometimes people just need a break.

Hepcat is still here. you guys have him buried before he's dead. highdesertranger

He said he was taking his ball and going home, but he's still watching from beyond the fence.

Way too many hurt feelings over ******** if you ask me.  I've figured out which threads to avoid and which posters to ignore, but there are also other places on the interwebs for non-van related discussions, so why bring it here in the first place?

First of all, it was "Gunny" who called out the mods publicly on the forum asking for an explanation. Off-hand I don't know if that is against the TOS here, but in another forum where I am, that gets one banned. Someone implied that the mods chastised him publicly, but they answered in the thread where he called them out. This opens up why if someone has a question on a "why" that they handle it through pm to begin with rather than calling out the moderators.

I agree with "mayble" in the post above and "Jim in Denver" summed up the issue pretty darn well too!

It isn't about "pc", it is about the rules of the forum of which everyone was and is aware.
