erm. it blocks the cooking area if you slide open the bathroom???
and why do they call it California it they don't intend to bring to the states?
I was really into both aircooled and watercooled VW's 10 years ago, but not anymore, especially if I'm going to be living in it.

Otherwise, it looks pretty awesome.

Interesting indeed, a Euro only van named after a state in The U.S.? Further interesting is that they have gone back to upper and lower sleeping berths as in the old Westfalia tradition, albeit having an actual upper compartment as opposed to a popup tent on top.  Love the afforded view.
With a TDI six, I'll bet it gets down the road much better than the old VW vans did.

It looks like a Sprinter. If you can afford one you can probably also work it to Van Dwell on the Continent for a time before having it shipped over!

If they are so adamant about not for the U.S., may have trouble with our DOT and EPA requirements.
