Anybody have experience with the Truckfridge TF-15?  Will it freeze me a block of ice?

Sure. TB-15 right?

But .5 cu ft interior space is tiny, 17 soda cans capacity total ?

Maybe mock it up in cardboard confirm that's enough for you before ordering.

That's a good idea to see how big it is.  Was wanting to make sure it would freeze water.

Just make sure when you're making the mock-up that you are using the INSIDE dimensions of the unit, not the outside... :D

I always recommend that no matter what unit you are thinking of buying that you make a mock up with cardboard and then start loading stuff ou of your fridge in to the cardboard. Being able to visualize the exact space and trying to fit things in is very enlightening.

If you just need ice, why not use a countertop icemaker?

They are a LOT cheaper, but you need either shore power (AC or generator) or a decent sized inverter to run one.

It may not make a usable block of ice, but it will freeze a milk jug of water.

That's what I wanted to know.  I would like to have the option of either using it to freeze water or just refrigerate.

The TF 15 that you referenced is a combination fridge/freezer unit. The really, really small side is the freezer, the larger side is refrigerator.

I crawled all over their website and was unable to find the inside dimensions of the unit. You'll probably have to contact the manufacturer to find out that information.

From a visual of it, you might be able to freeze a couple of 12 oz water bottles in the freezer section if you  have nothing else in there.

Freezing water takes a lot more energy than one might think. Most mfrs recommend putting already frozen items in the freezer section because that saves energy.

Not sure why you want to freeze water except if it's ice cubes for in your drinks... :D

I'm WRONG! The TB-15 and TB-18 can only be used as a refrigerator. I have a TB-31, that one can freeze.
Also, Nope. The Indel-B portable fridges do not have two compartments. There is a shallow area over the compressor end, but the whole inside is regulated by one setting. You can freeze or refrigerate as you please, but not both at once. Except on the TB-15 or TB-18.
Sorry for misleading information.
