I will be hitting the road in about 3 wks in my camper van pulling small cargo trailer.  Any advice on safe, free places to park overnight on travels through Illinois, TN and on down to FLorida?

I use Allstays.com for finding in-transit overnights. Crackerbarrels are always good, and be sure to ask the manager before settling in for the night. Buy something, even if it's a drink or a muffin, and display the receipt on your windshield.
