Howdee!

I'm thinking of getting a late model ford transit cargo van and converting it to live on the road for two or three years. I'm more a campground person than a boondocks, but I hope to do a little boon docking too.

Just want an adventure before I get too old.

Just found this forum, and it looks awesome so I knew I had to join.

The big question I'm trying to answer before getting a van is whether or not it's a general problem that properly done conversion vans will be accepted into full-hookup campgrounds (KOA, and others) or not? I've seen a few KOAs online with fine print saying they won't allow conversion vans. Is this pretty common for conversion vans to be discriminated against? If the van is modern and looks great and converted correctly will they generally accept them into the campgrounds?

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and exploring this website.

Thanks
Lauren

Welcome Lauren, you won't have problems with state parks or federal parks. IMO the state and federal parks are nicer than a lot of commercial parks, usually cheaper too. With privately owned parks it's a hit or miss thing. Some private parks have age limits on your rig.

You have to put huge, gaudy, brown, gold, red, or yellow decals on it first.

A large tree or bear decal is always a hit.

Then you're fine.

Thanks Hillbilly!

I'm an A/C kind of person, though I do want to visit the parks. Also want to be close to the cities so I can find music gigs to play.
