Greetings everyone,

My name is Chase, I'm 21, from Portland, Oregon, and your typical broke college student. I currently attend college at PCC and am looking to graduate this winter. Living the Vandweller lifestyle is something that's captivated my attention and thoughts for the past year, and I'm excited to finally get involved with a forum where I can continue to learn about living smaller and more sustainably. I look forward to meeting some of you and hearing your experiences, because that's what life is all about, meeting new people and seeing different perspectives.

I currently own a 92' Subaru Legacy and have camped out of it a few times, but this summer I am looking to part with it while I commercial fish in Oregon / Alaska to raise enough funds to buy my first camper van. I love to camp, fish, hike, snowboard, and take photographs, like every Northwest hipster out there, and I'm also a member of the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol and regularly volunteer with them.

Thanks for welcoming me to the site.

I once chatted with a guy who worked half the year on a fishing boat in Alaska and the other half year in Florida picking fruit.

From what he told me, commercial fishing is.... um... not a job for everyone. ;)

Yes keep your vehicle while you try it out.

Uncomfortable and very dangerous trade.
