Many thanks to Bob Wells for his CRVL website, all his how to articles and videos, and especially watering the seeds of my desire to hit the open road and live a simpler, nomadic life. Bob’s encouragement and warn, honest, friendly nature, inviting folks to ponder the idea of living full time, on the road lit the spark in me. I am typically a loner, comfortable being in my own head. But I thought that living by myself on the road would be too isolating, even for me. But then Bob introduced me to his ‘Tribe’. There are people, hundreds, thousands even, living on the road full time. I don’t have to go it alone…if I didn’t want to. There is a whole network of kind, like-minded folks that Bob has gathered together that share his vision and desire to commune (electronically and substantially), sharing their knowledge, fellowship and having fun too.
I am currently in ‘savings mode’ and estimate hitting the road in a couple of years, once I have enough dough to buy my rig outright (4x4 van or truck camper) and a little $afety net (I’ve been a slave to my debt in the past and don’t ever want to be a slave to debt again). This itinerant life is all about freedom.
I do not have any van dwelling experience to offer advice, short of some KOA camping, so you may not hear from me too often in the forum, but like so many (I’m sure) we are reading and taking note of all the information being shared throughout the CRVL web pages, on Bob’s blog and on the CRVL forum. My only problem is wanting to leave this rat race today!
Again, a grateful thanks to Bob, James and Kyndal (Enigmatic Nomadics) for their fun and informative video collaboration, to the forum moderators and the members of the Tribe for sharing their time, experience, wisdom and joy for full time living on the road.
