generally speaking to be considered ok to use during burn ban the device must have a shut off valve/switch which immediately shuts it off. I have never seen a wood/charcoal burner that meets those requirements. highdesertranger

The concern is also sparks flying off to ignite a fire elsewhere. So unless the chimney has a spark arrestor...
