Tacoma 4 x 4

Anyone using a Toyota Tacoma 4WD for a tow vehicle? If so, what weight are you pulling and how's it doing? I'm looking at a 2016 Taco Off Road and plan on pulling 5K+/-...

5k+ seems to be a little heavy for a taco. I would try to stay under. I know people do it but it puts a strain on the truck. a Tundra is a little more capable. highdesertranger

Check your owners manual and don't pull the limit. I recommend having the tow package too

Thanks guys.... The Taco off road model does come with a tow package and its rated for 6400 lbs... Toyota came out with a new V6 and 6 speed transmission drive train for 2016... Agreed the Tundra would be a far superior tow vehicle but it consumes fuel at an alarming rate both loaded and unloaded. http://www.toyota.com/tacoma/features/towing/7594/7543/7582/7598
