Stepvan insurance options

Geico and State Farm were happy to insure my Grumman as a passenger van, but both companies were a little shady*.

Unfortunately there aren't too many other options - Travelers and Allstate both said that they don't insure former commercial vehicles (even ones titled as private passenger vans), and Roamly told me that they don't insure stepvans at all. Does anyone else have recent experience getting a similar vehicle covered?

For what it's worth, the Roamly agent was very helpful, direct and organized. He suggested Progressive, so I'll give them a call. I'm also sifting through the older threads here to find the names of the other specialty insurers...
