Something i've been wondering about for a while but haven't found any info anywhere..

22ft step van, 10,000 GVW, 16" tires with duallies at the rear

The tires' sidewall says rated for xxxxLB at 80 PSI cold. Does that mean my tire pressure should be around 80 PSI? Because they're currently at 50 PSI and feel nice and firm.

I run about 70# all around in my 12' pushing the 10,000 # gvw dually. Have nice even tire wear.

Tires are 235 75 16.
I tow a trailer often, even at 70 psi the duals would contact each other too often until I added spacers.

my dually tires has the same rating as yours. the 80psi is the max. try to stay away from the max. you do know dually tires are never supposed to touch. if overloaded they will touch at the bottom bulge, this is a big bad no no. keep them inflated so they don't touch and then a little more. I run my at 65psi. note, the leos look for them touching if the do you will have some explaining to do. highdesertranger

Once, while operating forklift, a customer had me load three one-ton pallets of wood pellets in the back of his dually pickup. When he left the tires were bulged and pressing totally together at the bottom...

Not really related, but I wonder if he made it home.
