Batteryminder was one of the first to market pulse desulfation as the newest latest and greatest magical battery restorer.

My friend has a batterymnder 12248.  Ok charger, but at 8 amps max is slow, and it never increased capacity or performance on any battery I tried it on.  He Also has the one which hooks between battery terminals and only blinks its lights during charging voltages.  He replaced that battery not long after.

Frankly, I'd expect just a blinking light to be just as effective.

Here is Mainesail's words regarding pulse desulfation chargers:

Strange, my experience with the batteryminders is the opposite.

Back in late 1999 I bought a 1996 F150.  In fall 2000 the original battery died, I replaced it and put the old battery out in the back yard.  In fall 2001 I got my first wall wart style batteryminder and decided to give it a good test on the old battery out back.  I put a 6 amp manual charger on the battery for a couple of days and then put the 1 amp BM on it and left it until Christmas.  Took it to the nearby battery vendor and put it on a load tester and it checked out ok.  Gave it to a friend and he used it in his truck for about a year and a half  before it died.

Perhaps the desulfation process takes months, or more, to work on a really messed up battery?
