Hi, I have a room booked at Knights Inn in Blythe,CA for the first weekend of the RTR. My Buddy informed me that he can't make that.
So is there anybody else going that doesn't have a vehicle yet that wants to see what its all about and needs some lodging?
I am driving down from Minnesota solo on the 7th or 8th. The room is 120 a night. I don't plan on spending much time there so it shouldn't be very invasive! I'm an easy to get along with 60 year old guy who won't be a problem for anybody. It is just a place to sleep and shower for me and i will find something to do so you can shower in private.
I need to let them know by 11/10 so I can cancel the reservation without penalty if I don't find someone to share the costs. Call me at 612-232-4507 if you would like to discus this.
  Thanks, Steve.

If you do cancel this reservation, know that there are hotels in Quartzite that are only a few minutes drive away from the RTR rather than a 25 mile drive.

Wish I could afford 120/night LOL.

I had to cancel that reservation, I can't afford that either.
I'm just going to drive out and let the chips fall where they may.
I'll just live out of my car, that's what this is all about right.
I may need to get a room every couple days or so.
I will check out that Laundromat with the showers also but I've got a feeling there's
going to be a line all the way out to the RTR with people waiting to get a shower! LOL
It should be interesting to say the least.
I can't wait! It will probably be 80 degrees warmer than here.

Can you bring a shower (and a shower tent}? Like the Big Kahuna?

I fully shower Once a week,(partial bath) every other day but also travel alone, and use the bag in the sun and a small tent, Your plans to wing it sound better than some motel room.

I only used that shower about 3 times, and all 3 times, it was not all that crowded. Early mornings and late afternoon seem to be the best times....at least when I was there. There is a laundymat, (of course) and a little restaurant in the same building so you can get a meal and/or do laundry while waiting.

Yeah I would not pay $120 just to sleep and shower. That's just crazy.

For the expense of the 3 nights in that room, (not to mention the gas burned for each round trip) you could buy a decent tent and sleeping bag plus air mattress and then donate it all into the free pile when you leave and still come out ahead.
