Regularly is only possible if there is lots of solar. Plan on eating your dinner early in the afternoon and starting it cooking by 10am in the morning. I have watched Jim and friends load up the ovens and enjoyed the results. One day I made Posole in one of them.

I tried one of the panel cookers for a while and didn’t find it reliable enough to earn its storage space. Even a fine gauze of cloud would lower the temperature too much to cook beans completely on a winter day, so I’d still end up finishing them on the stovetop. The real solar ovens, with the black, insulated boxes that hold heat, would be a lot better.

I've used a home made panel cooker with good success. Some seriously yummy food has been made that way. That being said, we like to stay in deeply forested areas or on the beach, neither of which is great for daily solar cooking.
