I got my panels on! Pretty exciting... I'll be working on getting the whole system put together in the next week.

Any considerations for building a battery box for an agm?

Where do you want the battery?  Those can go anywhere.

It'll go under the bunk in the back, I've partitioned off a section for it already with plywood.

that sounds good, just secure it in the partition/box and your good to go.
Try to mount your solar controller as near the battery as possible to keep the wire run from controller to battery as short as reasonable.
what is the item that I can't see next to the panel? Is it tall enough to cast a shadow? No SHADOWS on the panels for best performance.

That's just a vent, it's lower than the panels. It's also stuck shut.
