Smart?

I met two sisters who were on a month long camping trip in a Smart. 4-person tent, 2-burner stove, cooler, air mattresses, sleeping bags, clothing... I was amazed how much they could fit into it.

Smarts are great cars to take with you in an RV. Lots of people use the all-electric version as their RV power source, and only drive it rarely while solar charges it! Pretty unique.

One day when I'm rich and have a 2 million dollar coach, I'll have a Tesla powering it. 8)

My old high school coach had the first Honda car that was tiny. Some juveniles once carried it over the fence and set it in the tennis court. Only a small gate in the fence. Their fun didn't last long. Coach got the football team to heave it back out! :D
Be just as easy with a Smart Car.....

The gas one was surprsingly roomy inside...i talked to a guy at mcds about his and he was loving it ;)

I see tall 6 feet plus guys get in and out of the driver's seat from a Smart car and I'm always amazed.

Did you guys see the older Expendables 1 (or 2?) movie where Arnold Schwartzenegger's character jumps into the passenger seat of a Smart car while spraying bullets at the bad guys? He rips out the door and exclaims "my left foot is bigger than this car!" Haha.

The Smart Car, like all 'total electrics', is too limited to be truly practical as anything beyond a short commute. A hybrid is far better. A buddy's wife has a Prius. They really like it and he's no wimp. Even I, unrepentant musclecar guy that I am, am starting to appreciate it.

If I remember right the gas ones get mediocre MPG for such a tiny car. You can buy any number of much larger cars from the 90s that get much better MPG. Civic and Geo both get 50 MPG and can easily carry 4 people and some groceries. Ford Festiva gets 40-45 MPG, can be found for $2000. It can easily carry 4 big guys and a dog! I've done it!

The Prius is a 1000 times a better car!

Smart is a great joke and that's about all.

Bottom line is this. A Smart car is no babe magnet. I will get zero play with that. I'd sooner get a Mini Cooper. Women dig that. Hah! ;-)

I appreciate the thread and nice comment about me, ~~~;)

I am still looking for the perfect vehicle, but that is not one I would like to have my brand on. :p

I get around 15 mpg average road with my old Dodge, and that is good enough for now. No payments, low insurance, I can do all the maintenance myself ~~~ And the football team is unable to put it up on trash cans. (Like we did to the coach with the 240Z! ;)

Perhaps if I win the lottery I will look at a small RV, but definitely not that.

Someone flipped the image and there's a major misspell in the caption, but here it is.
