greetings to one and all from L.A....that's lower alabama!!!     with all the talk about obama care and medicare rates going up i think i need to double up on my high blood pressure meds.   with out insurance my two insulins would run about $12,000.00  per year and that is NOT A TYPO, i use the pens and not the syringes.   is there anyone out there that has purchased any of the following recently in Mexico:  prescription meds., eye glasses, or had dental work done?.  if so are you willing tell us about your experience and possibly an idea about the costs involved?   speaking for myself i would be grateful for the info.   :s                                                                        happy trails from texas jay bird and queenie [ untrained attack chijuajua ]

I think Bob has haad some dental work done in Mexico. He quoted me A price for crowns at about one third of what I just paid in Florida. Maybe he has some info on regular medical work, too . I presume that, even if premiums go up, that you are still better off with insurance

a friend and i both have regular medicare coverage with part d provide by united health insurance called AARPrx  there is enough difference in our s.s.benefits that one of us ended up charging 100's of $$$$$ at a time  plus food too on a 29% interest credit card and this went on for several months of 2015.  i think even with ins. some would benefit from a trip south of the boarder.   thank you for your response to my post.     happy trails txjbird,

Hey TJ.  This has been discussed a lot here in the past.  Do a search on "Algodones" here in the forums.  (That's the name of the Mexican town you want.)

And I believe Bob has done one or more blog posts on Algodones, which would be a separate search.

Regards
John
