This will be my first RTR , I don't have a van these days but just can't imagine living in anything smaller than this 19'TT.  Years ago I pretty much lived out of my 1976 E150, but all I had then was a water-ski, surfboards, that's when I could stealth camp in downtown SF.  I used to party with friends in AZ, we had hotdogs and bonfire, later when it got dark we launched a few Chinese wish lanterns, does anyone know if that would be permissible at the RTR? :D

Welcome Doug to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

this is for everybody not just Doug, PLEASE DO NOT launch those Chinese Lanterns. almost every year some one does, please don't. that's one of the most irresponsible things you can do, besides being illegal every place that I know of.

see you at RTR. highdesertranger

Hi Doug and welcome. Hope you have a fun RtR! No flying burning litter bombs please! Although, I'm pretty sure Bob didn't think to put that into the rules...lol. Silly silly!

Every year, I have to climb a ladder into my trees to retrieve Chinese lanterns, or celebration balloons that have finally succumbed to gravity, and entangled themselves into nature, or worse yet, power lines.

They are beautiful to watch, but irresponsible to release !

Thanks for the response, that's why I asked, a simple No or Don't would suffice, the irresponsible remarks I feel are unkind.

Nothing unkind about the reality of sending a flaming ornament skyward with no control where, and when it lands.

Sorry Doug, no offense was intended. Hope you have a great time at the meet up.

dont take responses to your post as directly aimed at you. in the world of online forums this thread could stand in perpetuity and people often respond with wording intended to "cover the bases" to make sure others reading this down the road get the picture
