well i am all set-up for movie nights, i have mostly manly type action movies with some comedy... so bring along a movie and I guess those in attendance can have a vote... It has been along time but I think they still make jiffy pop popcorn which would be fun and/or everyone bring a snack to share... We can play that by ear... Hope to meet you all and make a lot of new friends...

Keep your eyes open for the brown and tan 1985 4x4 Chevy van with a deck on it, that will be me...

PS still looking for a travel buddy to explore the SW up into the NW and beyond...

For those that find GPS coordinates useful, last years RTR location was:

N 33 degrees 38.446'
W 114 degrees 18.777'

P.S. Holy smoke, I'm really looking forward to getting together with everyone again!

P.P.S. Didn't know Bob had the coordinates on the 2011 RTR page. They're almost the same anyway.
"Holy smoke, I'm really looking forward to getting together with everyone again!"

Me, too! Plus, I am already looking forward to some warmer temperatures. It got cold (relatively speaking) here, fast! There's snow on the mountain tops about 4 miles from me.
I expect it to be in the same spot as last year, but there is always a slim chance when I get there it will already be occupied. Its a very large area so I don't expect it to be an issue. Usually I plan to get to QZT in November or December so I would hold the area. But this year I can't get there till the last minute.

I'm still looking for people to lead seminars. They are very informal and all you have to do is know a little something about a subject and get the group to talking about it. Their is so much wisdom in the group they will fill in any gaps and share great ideas.

I'm hoping for lots of people, but I'm certain that it will be wonderful people and we will have a great time!! There are pictures from last years RTR here Bob
http://cheapgreenrvliving.com/Rendezvous.html

I've been meaning to ask you about the seminars. Are those hard dates? The reason I ask is because the Solar Power seminar is going to be taking place well before I arrive and I really wanted to attend that one.

Steve, last year there were a couple solar power installs and I am hoping mine will be installed this year. You could get a private hands on session!

If people are interested, I could do a discussion/demo of LED lighting. I have been getting a variety of ones to try so can show off the difference between warm white and cool white as well as a variety of form factors.
The seminars are not written in stone, let me know when would be better and I can change it. Cyndi, if you have the parts, we will install it all for you!! You know I can't refuse you anything!! And yes, anyone can grab me and I'd be glad to tell you everything I know about vandwelling on any topic , including solar. It should only take a few minutes. The great thing is there are lots of people much more knowledgable than me and they all are glad to share what they know.

Blars, LEDs are a great topic! Let me know when you want to do it and the name of the semiar and I'll schedule it. Bob

I just made some hand picked homemade blackberry jelly/jam and think I'll bring a couple quarts to share at the RTR. It's good stuff. Maybe I'll bring peanut butter too...

Nelda

I was just pondering what kind of single malt scotch to bring for the second annual single malt scotch tasting experience. Mostly it depends on my budget.

And just for the record I don't actually drink, but the event was pretty amusing.

Looking forward to some of that jam, Nelda! I bet it will be AWESOME on my frybread!

I plan on being at the RTR this year too, and am looking forward to meeting all of you. ..Movies, blackberry jam, sitting around doing nothing, learning......It all sounds great.

This will be my first long distance trip in my van, and boy, do I feel giddy! It's a little over a month away!

Katie

Frybread Cyndi? YUMM! Made with Blue Bird flour? To bad I'll miss this event....Be sure and get lots of photos for those who can't make it. Sounds like a good time.

This might be an interesting day trip for some of the folks attending RTR. It is a one day HAM Class in Yuma where you get your test for your license at the end of the day. The class is free, but you have to pay for the test if you take it. It's probably best not to partake in the scotch tasting right before attending it

We are talking about doing it. Registration ends Dec 30th.

http://www.yumacountyaz.gov/index.aspx?page=17&recordid=2002&returnURL=/index.aspx?page=266

Edited! URL now works. Thanks for the heads up C&S.
I'm attending this event and Sooo looking forward to it. I'm pumped on the led class. Also Laphroig is my favorite scotch. Come by the vansion and sip a glass.

Cyndi,
Glen moray or a 30yr chivas regal are my favorites WITH JUST A SIP OF COLD WATER PLEASE. BUT you are safe to far to come, just wish airfares where cheaper, then i would have to hire a bus and

get lost finding the place. What a great holiday it would be.OH FOR THE LOTTO LIFE.

Cheers
