I have been saving everything i can and finally feel i have enough to start on a journey. i am however nervous about when my $ runs out. where do u guys find jobs on the road? what do u do about an adress for like a temp job in new city?

I write novels for a living so do not know how to best answer your questions. However, if you explore lots of thread titles on this forum -- like workamping and states of residence -- I think you'll find answers for almost any questions you have. There is a wealth of info here. :)

Most of us use private style post office box services I think.

Many of the people I know that travel and work through temp services use the temp services as an address too.

Temp services can be a good choice for quick jobs if you're not too picky I hear.

Congratulations on the wonderful new life you have in front of you!

Two very common jobs:

1) Camp ground host in the National Forests. You get paid for every hour worked, usually minimum wage of the state you are in. You get a free site in the camground. Best of all it's usually cool in the summer. Usually work from May to September, but sometimes longer. I did it for 4 years and loved it! It's pretty easy to save $3000 for the summer

2) Work at Amazon.con warehouse at the Holidays. Good wages and lots of paid overtime and they give you a free site for the whole time! It usually runs form September to December.

3) In the winter you can draw unemployment.

I have been using a mailbox at a private mail store as my address for years now without issue.

There are lots of unskilled jobs out there such as the ones mentioned above. Those are great for small amounts of low-stress pay. A long term solution for better pay would be to pick up some sort of skill that is regularly needed on a short term basis. Pay can be quite good and you get to choose when and where you work. You may have to pay for a class but it will pay for itself quickly. Construction-related jobs can be good for this. Carpentry, equipment operators, electrician, etc. I met one guy who works on gutters. When a big storm hits he drives to that town and goes door to door offering to repair gutters and clear debris. I work as a poker dealer for big tournaments, there is a post in Bob's blog about that.
