Hey everyone.
So some good news. I now have a Paratransit license, it came in the mail for me just last week. Since there's a massive shortage of ambulette drivers in the city, the work situation is looking good. I nailed one of my priorities, and I might actually have steady work for as long as I have my licenses. Not only that, but so long as I keep them renewed-I could pretty much go back and work in the city any time I need some cash. Either stay with family or figure out some living arrangement until I have enough to get back out there.
But for this year or so (who knows, maybe less) the plan goes something like this.
Work and save a bit, buy a few things that I plan on using to make money down the road.
Once I set a few things up, I'm gonna get myself a van. Don't know which just yet, but I'm thinking something roomy with potential to trick out and make it comfy, I am a city boy after all.
The way I look at it, even if the van dwelling doesn't go so great, I'll have a van. A van I could either sell or otherwise use to make some sort of living. I wanna try this thing part-time for a while, get my feet (wheels?) wet and then see where to take it from there. The other reason I don't want to go full-on full-time is because I want to come back and see my parents often enough that they don't miss me too much. They're. . .not young and lately I've been feeling like I want to spend more time with them before it's too late. That's neither here nor there though.
Haven't been here in a good long while, but I remembered some of the things folks said to me. Thought long about it, and it sort of gave me the push to go and get my documents in order. I'm not an optimist by nature, but I'm sort of looking forward to how things will play out. Besides, what's the worst that can happen? (Hint: It's going to happen either way at some undetermined time, place and circumstance.)
Dunno why, but felt like posting.
