Hey Salty, every time I don't log on for a few days your thread jumps 3 or 4 pages! I hope this one works out.

HDR aka "Squishy"!  LOL

I like High Desert Stranger. It sounds like a delicacy out of Colorado.  ;)

HDR, my squishy, if those rims don't match or are the wrong ones, do you think it's still worth the price for bus?

I'm thinking I could sell those rims to offset costs of new ones.

And is this the difference you were explaining about flat and acorn HDR?

Both.
Hub centric slides tightly onto the center hub, so, as the lug nuts may not be in the exact center of each lug hole, lug nuts with washers attached are used.
On lug centric the rim fits very loosely on the hub and the tapered lug nuts are used to hold the rim away from the hub

This is hard to explain. [emoji3]

So why does it matter which kind are used?
Weight and shear force.
Hub centric is more important on heavy and off-road vehicles.
Buses are heavy and you might drive it off-road.

I do not know hub centric, so this is an education.  :)

What I do see is the current rims look powder coated.  That makes them more desirable.  They can be sold.

It looks like a lot of after market rims are manufactured to fit multiple vehicles.  When installed on a hub centric vehicle a spacer ring is used.  A good tire store could most likely find a set of spacers to fit.

I googled "hub centric vs lug centric"  http://tires.about.com/od/understanding_wheels/a/hub-centric-vs-lug-centric-wheels.htm

Looking at just a few forum post about this, there is a lot of disagreement as to the necessity of using the spacers.   I would use the spacer.

HDR/Squishy
Remember when we were kids and your "friends" gave you a nickname that you didn't like ,
so you complained and they gave you another one ???
