Hello fellow travelers.

I am going to be heading to Tuscan AZ in a few days to see a surgeon. Dose any one have any advice as were I might stay cheaply if the surgeon needs to do his thing?

Thanks

The hospital may have a shelter of sorts for stranded travelers and others in need of a place to land during a medical issue.

Might ask to speak with a hospital social worker about options for yourself and/or your vehicle.

A lot will depend on how long, your needs and services offered by different agencies, like whether you are you a veteran, there is camping by reservation at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. The social services person is a good starting place. There are a few private lots for rent on Craigslist and some parks allow RV's. There is an Escapee's park in Benson about 75 miles away or Snyder Hill BLM for 14 days on the west side of Tucson. There is a cheap rundown RV park just south of Green Valley off the east side of Interstate 19. In a few weeks most of the winter snowbirds will be leaving and most rates will be cheaper or at least places easier to find. There was a member of this forum that was looking for someone to stay on their property in Marana you might be able to contact by searching here as well. There are a lot of AirBnB and apartment possibilities with monthly rates but Tucson is a growing place with little available housing so you will need to be lucky!
