Anyone know much about Perovskite solar cells?

After reading Bob's post about possible upcoming changes in solar prices, I did a little digging about solar tech and ran across Perovskite solar cells, but didn't find any info on it on this forum.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perovskite_solar_cell

Here are two articles less than 48 hours old:

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/07/170726141632.htm

And of course, no new tech would be complete without a TED talks:

Think this might be on the horizion any time soon?

Apparently they're cost effective to produce.
They're claiming 22.1% efficiency now, and they're stating they can get that much higher.

My 435w is a rebreanded SunPower. It has a efficiency of over 20% and while rated at 79.9 Voc, it produces over 100 Voc.

I have seen quite a few advancement in solar never make it to market. It takes more than a good product, you have to make money at it. Also it may be a bit better but it takes more than just a small improvement before people will be willing to spend extra money on it or replace what they have,

Reminds me of the saying that "Perfect is the enemy of good enough".

Stop worrying about a "perfect" system and get out there with one that is "good enough".

right?  like a spilled sack of potatoes.

I figured it was worth a post, but had a sneaking suspicion it might be just hype, especially after not finding anything on it here.
Thanks!!
