Panel on the Dashboard

Curious if anyone has ever put their solar panel on the dashboard while driving and if they noticed any difference in the performance of the panel.  I've been sunburned through the windshield so...

Mine is mounted on the hood. I have a smaller portable panel I place on top of the windshield when parked.
