I use a netgear nighthawk mr1100 and plug my 9dbi directional antenna mounted on a winegard sensar mast directly into router/mifi. I generally see a 15-30 dbi gain negating a weboost.

If you notice my phone has 1 bar. The router has 3 and usually has 4. Idk if its the weather or whatever but i can watch video in 1080p, stream more video on phone, and browse internet without noticable slowing.

I want to post my roof setup because i searched for months and hardly found anyone else doing this.

Its nice to be able to stand in RV, raise antenna in 10 seconds, the point it to nearest tower!

Really like this a lot. Can you describe the mount you built ? Obvious you need to choose BROADCAST TV or the CELL TOWER DATA as a priority when you aim.

Yes but not always. Often both can still pickup a signal without pointing directly in the right area. Usually close to town.

The bracket it just 2 poeces of like 16 gauge steel. 8x3 inches. Holes drilled for the mast. The i bent one of the pieces 90 degrees1 inch, welded that to the other piece, then welded the antennas L-bracket the straight piece. I then cut a slit in the antennas plastic mount to slide the metal bracket inside.

Prolly dont make sense but you can probably look at pics and infer from it. Can likely do it without welding too.

A friend did almost the same thing with his except he mounted it to the side of the mast. It lays flat on the roof when down to get that little bit of clearance from overhead obstructions.

The antenna has drain holes and specifically says to mount long way up like that. It doesnt stick up higher than AC unit though. To run cables I used these.

OTR is AT&T based. Rarely have I found a Verizon signal and no AT&T. More likely a congested Verizon signal while AT&T is flying. (think Quartzsite during the RTR)

Wow they sell the mr1100 for $150. And no activation fee. Dang wish i had known about that.
