In 1959, a group of people who owned Airstream trailers took a little trip from Capetown, South Africa to Cairo, Egypt.

Turns out a documentary of around 48 minutes was shot during the seven month trip (They thought it was only going to take 3 months).

Parts of it are a bit hokey - Native Africans welcoming them by dancing, dancing, dancing.  But this was 1959, and I guess we shouldn't judge it by 21st century standards.  Anyway, if you're interested, here it is:

I watched the whole thing. I would have loved something like that but I could leave out the stuck in the sands part.... I kept looking for Tarzan...
