 Hi! I'm having trouble posting my introductory bio, so it put it in the attached small text file, plus a photo. ~ Cyndi_AnamCaravan

Welcome to the CRVL forums Cyndi! One of the forum rules is new members must make at least ten posts before including links so I've removed your links. I tried to copy and paste your introduction but the forum program would not accept it. I'm really sorry but could you make a new post and type your introduction?

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi! I didn't have any links in my comment, except the attached text file, and one hashtag. I'll try again... I'll cut my comment in half to see if length is the problem. Thanks for your suggestions! ~ Cyndi_AnamCaravan

Greetings! My husband, Alan, and I are retirees from Maryland. We're not even vandwelling noobies yet, because we have not yet got our van ready for take-off, but it's in the planning stage. We have a bare 2015 Ram Promaster 3500 high-roof, extended-body cargo van, which we bought new in 2015, with the idea of converting it to a handicap-friendly (for my arthritis) camper van and daily driver.

Right after we made the purchase, we were away from home on family business for about a month in August, and when we returned we discovered a water leak in the attic had filled our entire house with mold, warpage, and general disaster, including 4 feet of water in the basement... (cont'd)

So, we didn't get started on the van right away. We've been living in hotels the past three years as the house has been ...s.l.o.w.l.y... restored. We expect to go home soon, and once we have things organized there, we'll start the van project. Because we have health problems that require some continuity of care, we don't plan to sell our house right away to become full-time nomads, but we'd like to spend substantial portions of our time travelling in the van with our three cats. Still brainstorming how to make that work out optimally for the five of us! ... (cont'd)

I've been watching lots of YouTube videos to learn more about the vandwelling life and community, and I've found much inspiration and information for our own van-build. We will definitely try to make it to the RTR as soon as we're able to get AnamCaravan (our van's "camp name") and ourselves trek-worthy. "Anam Cara" means "Friend of My Soul" in Gaelic, and we combined it with "Caravan" for our #vanlife moniker. I see I'm not the only Cyndi among the forum members -- it looks like there may be 3 others with my same spelling! -- so a shout-out to my sister Cyndis and a friendly "hello" to everyone else from Cyndi_AnamCaravan and Alan!

I think that worked! Sorry to give you such a cumbersome post!

Hi Cyndi, welcome to the forum! What a disaster you went through with your home! So sorry that happened to you! So glad to hear the home is restored now. I'm going to be getting a van soon and will probably move into it before doing the build. I'm on the other side of the country ... Maryland seems so far away!
