Hi,
I don't want to irratate people by asking the same questions that have been answered over and over already. So...

Is this the best place to ask general questions, like where to look for info/here or somewhere else?

Is there a section to ask about routes from one place to the next? Like plan where to park and sleep when crossing the country, which routes are easiest to find places to sleep?

Is there a specfic section for truck topper conversions or do u use the truck forum, then individual issues like insulation, ect, section?

Thanks so much, l tryto be a low maintance participant:) I do try the search function first.

Don't worry too much about irritating people. This group is so patient and understanding. It takes a lot to get us annoyed. :-D

As far as posting pick the forum that fits your question the best. Look through the posts first. Do a search too but that is often confusing so if you don't find what you want just post. It may have been answered before and is buried somewhere in all of the posts. It's often easier to just ask again.

You can start a thread in "Captains' Logs" too. It will be a little diary of your plans before you get on the road and can be continued as you travel.

Thank-u the captains log is a great idea I will do that:)

I am offended!  Only one smiley! :p ;)

Welcome, and good luck with the search.  We are a diverse bunch, and have many ways of doing things.  Find one you like that has more than one recommendations.  If a post has likes~~~ it could be a good idea.

Gotsmart, didn't even see the rating system there, very helpful. Yes the diversity, once I adjust to it is a cool thing,  different ways of doing things for different to people. Thanks for info

Welcome DharmaGirl! Everyone here is very helpful imo. They are very patient and will explain things. If you search and can't find it, someone will post a link to a helpful thread or just tell you again.

Sallyseawitch, great name, thanks for the welcome, good to hear about people not minding explaining things again or steering to threads. I was on a ford forum and it was an issue. Thanks again!

The biggest problem here is calling someone by the wrong gender.  Some names are hard to tell.   :s  So no big deal.

Just ask and help is here.

Scroll around the red letters.  Lots of "easter eggs"!  Have fun.

BTW, I am John.

Thanks. I couldn't think of anything for a name and I love the ocean lol. It was impulsive. Should be a boat name but...

Saltyseawitch and gotsmart/John:).
I am learning! Didn't see your posts till now:) I always respond if someone takes time to type to me, now I know to look back.
And didn't realize i typed Sallyseawitch, thought I was typing salty on this little phone.

I know what u mean about the usernames I don't give it alot of thought and then it is there for ever:) and some are very hard to tell the gender, then it is easy to associate it with one or the other.

Thanks for support much appreciated! Hope day is a good one:)

On the top left of every page is

Control Panel For:     User CP

Click on that for current threads that you are involved in, with new posts.

I learned to type (not keyboard) on a Royal manual typewriter.  The school bought electric ones the next year.  This was 10 years before Microsoft.   Typing on a telephone and communicating instantly with large amounts of people was Dick Tracey thinking.  Funny pages, but to have that machine do your spelling for you?  If you are not careful, the phone writes things you did not mean to say!  I get in enough trouble on my own without the spell czech after me.   Sometimes everyone either hits a wrong button, or makes a booboo. (Or has the machine turn on them!)  ;)

It looks like you are having fun, and getting more honest information here.  (Bob does not allow trolls. )

Happy hunting.

Gotsmart, thank u on the CP hint, that will be alot easier than scrolling through every thread ever involved with! Not sure what Dick Tracy thinking is, maybe comicial, it is often funny communicating this way. By the time I type it on this phone I want to be rid of it and most often don't reread, probably should.
Thanks again!
