May one day be car living and would like to do it with my dignity intact. Have found lots of tips and encouragement from your videos
. I have a question about how to deal with vehicle inspection and registration when you live  on the road

In order to deal with the DMV issues, one must have an official address. You will need an address for your health insurance, voter registration, passport, all the government type stuff. Some people use a friend or family member's address, someone who doesn't mind forwarding mail to you. Others will use a mail forwarding service that provides a physical address, like Escapees, that has physical addresses in FL, SD, and TX, or America's Mailbox in SD. SD actually wants nomads to register there, because it needs warm bodies to increase its population so it can get better Federal funding. To better understand the issues, visit the Escapees RV Club website and go to the page called Domicile. You don't have to have an RV to use their services. I think America's Mailbox has information on their website also. Everyone who lives in a vehicle has to deal with these issues, so you'll see by the responses that follow, there are many choices. I have chosen to domicile in a state that has really good Medicare supplement plans, because that is something I need and use. It's not the cheapest or most convenient in terms of vehicle registration, but that's a trade-off that I choose to live with at this time. I may change my domicile in the future, especially if SD adopts the Medicare supplement I use now. I use Escapees for my mail forwarding. All my mail goes to their main address in Texas, and they send it to me wherever I happen to be. Hope I haven't confused you.
