Hi y’all. I’m trying to get my camper finished for full time living,  but not sure where to go and what’s needed to keep things cheap as possible. Learning hopefully.

I treat my van as a backpacking tent that moves.

All I really NEED is a comfortable place to sleep, and a camping stove.

Everything else is a luxury.

:)

Welcome to the CRVL forums InkedGypsy ! Your camper can be very simple like Lenny's van or as elaborate as a factory made RV. Start simple with just the basics - a bed, cooler, stove, etc. and camp at a local public park for a week or so to see what you need to be comfortable. There are many buildouts in the "Choosing the Right Vehicle" section. Take a look at some of them and feel free to ask questions!

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome InkedGypsy! I'll be taking my first trip at the end of this month. I will be keeping it very simple. My van will have a floor, cot w/ foam mattress, and no built-ins. I want this trip to help me gain clarity on what I'll need during van life.
