Hello,

After years and years of dreaming and a few months settling in and getting my traveling legs, I have finally hit the road and found my way to Ehrenberg.

If you're nearby I'd love to meet my fellow travelers.

I'm in a gray pickup truck camper rig somewhere on the mesa, I think near where Bob camps but I really have no idea where I am to be honest since I came in, in the dark this evening.

But come say hello please if you see me and my pup around.

Cheers!

Welcome,
A big bunch of the tribe here are camped outside of Eberg. Bob's blog (versus his forum here) has a detailed map of where they are camped so you can join them.

The blog post talks about the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous in Quartzsite that happens in January, but way down in that post is the map of the current camp.

If it is easier, here is a link to take you to that blog post:

Thanks for the info.

I think I may be at the site. Hard to tell but it sure is pretty here. I just spent a month in the cold and snow waking up with icicles in my camper, it's nice to be in the warm sun.

Welcome aboard Bonanza Jellybean !
That name's almost cinematic.

It sounds like you have been here for a while already.
So you've probably already decided you will have fun here ?

I really hear you about the icicles in the rig , it was 22* inside mine this morning so the water bottle was kinda...........well , useless.
15* outside but MIGHT make it above freezing by 1pm or so. Better change that to 3pm ,,,,I just checked and its 29.4* at 1:30 !
If I could I would so be down in the desert with the group waiting for RTR.

Don't be shy and post all the questions you like ,,,,,and pics too . We do like pics!

Hi Popeye!

The name is cinematic indeed, lifted straight from one of my favorite books, by one of my favorite authors: Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, by Tom Robbins, but you're probably teasing me for that but I needed a name and it was a good one, worth stealing.

Frozen water is no fun! I was keeping a pot of water available in the morning I could unfreeze it on the stove and have coffee. Must have coffee! Everything else is secondary.

Sorry to hear you may miss the RTR this year, but I'll look for you just the same. Things change and you just might make it.

Never read that one. Makes sense though.
Those writer types come up with some cool names . Why not use it ?
Buckaroo Bonzai , Mad Max , Conan the Barbarian , Popeye the Sailor.............

Wagoneer
Nope , not saying nuttin'............

I was lucky enough to meet Bonanza Jellybean today. Sadly, I came away with an extreme case or Rigus Envious!!!! WOW, that is a beauty!!!

Glad you're here anyway! Now, if I could only stop this drooling with envy everytime I look your way!!

I recognize that truck. You are parked near me. I am in the red high top van with the funny little trailer with the arrow painted on the side. Small world.

Welcome

Ha! Well, I'm playing second fiddle to my rig but I agree she is a beaut.

After looking around I see everyone here has a rig that is worthy of envy. I'm loving the van build outs I'm seeing here and how smart everyone has been about their designs.

Much to learn and admire. Can't wait to see more at the RTR.

Hi Tom,

Just saw your post, I'm still figuring out how the forum works.

I'm so thrilled with the pop-up shower tent you sold me! Now I feel like I could be a boondocker for a very long time...it's changed everything and I couldn't be more thrilled.

Thanks!!! ?

:) Hello and welcome.  I'm so glad you mentioned that book.  I haven't read it in a long time.  Two others I enjoy are "The Crying Heart Tattoo" by David Lozell Martin and "The Beet Queen" by Louise Erdrich.  All 3 are old favorites and now I need to hunt up copies of them.  I hope you have a great time at the RTR.

:)   How did that new trailer tow?  Tonite at Hobby Lobby I saw a vinyl wall decoration of a Tipi with designs at the top and it said Welcome To My/Our Tribe{ I can't recall which one}.  It would go well with your Red Arrow IMO............. AND they are 1/2 off.
Have fun at the RTR
