New Years Hopes and Dreams

I hope it's better than that!

What are your hopes and dreams for the new year?

My hopes and dreams, are for much less drama overall and the healing of the land (I know that is a big ask).

Getting my van cleaned out, reprovisioned, and repainted. Tidying up the electrical, and possibly reworking the solar.

Doing a few more long walks and setting up a weight bench. Watching the stars with the help of earthsky.com and other science sites.

I plan spend the new year being content with what I have. It is extremely refreshing to take a vacation from hopes and dreams.

What I want is my wife back, and a decent relationship and communication with my children. Well I’m getting to the point where I realize that’s not going to happen. So what I want in my life is happiness, i’m praying this foot ulcer will heal and I’ll be able to be out doing my nature exploring and photos again. Oh I almost forgot I’d like to have that $2000 check from the government and start my emergency fund off in a big way. I sure would be more confident in my travels if I had that in the bank. Am I asking for too much?

Hope to have this AFib (irregular heartbeat) corrected in the first half of Jan.

looking forward to some short bicycle/camping tours. Riding/camping from D.C. to Pittsburgh on two wonderful hiker/biker trails this Spring. Will do other short tours on rails to trails paths.

Will take a trip out west later in 2021

My hopes and dreams for the next year ....good question; I think this is almost like a new year’s resolution. What do I want for myself in 2021. I want to travel and Tennessee and Kentucky. The state has amazing sites that are waiting to be explored. In the past all my camping was in state or national parks. I hope to get off that beaten path and venture out. To be free to roam without worrying about parking fees.

How about no closed campgrounds next year, and let's get the festivals, fairs, concerts, and sporting events at full capacity with no Covid fears.

So do I but we need to stay safe by doing what is necessary to avoid getting sick until we can. Avoiding other people and anything they have been around pretty well takes care of it. Wearing a mask and disinfecting places and things other people are around and touch is necessary only if you go where they have been or are and then stay away from them as far as possible. Don’t let anyone anywhere close to you that isn’t behind a shield or wearing a mask properly. If you are unsure whether something has been disinfected or not were gloves till you can disinfect all surfaces. Just to make sure anytime you go out to public places wash your hands before touching your face, eyes, nose or mouth. Don’t go indoors or if you must don’t stay more than 20 minutes. Hold conversations not lasting more than 20 minutes, outside, 6’ apart, wearing a mask and eye protection and preferably 90 degrees to the wind. Sounds crazy doesn’t it, but that is what many people in our little community have done for months now and those households that have have not gotten sick. Just saying it has worked, my main concern is having to get around people to get the vaccine shot! Seems funny that this is very similar to how I was trained to deal with radioactive fallout. Who would have thought I would ever use any of that training!

Hello everyone! 

Just a note, not possible to disagree with anyone's hopes and dreams as this is an individual expression of hope or wishing.

Common things we may wish for:
Health, peace, good things, travel (especially on here), great food, new stuff like kayaks, solar, and vans, more sunsets & long walks. So that is the idea, a wish not a debate.

I also listed some individual goals I wish to do, cos I'm that goal oriented type even when wishing.

Please keep political, religious, or negative etc wishes restrained to a PM and not in the thread. Thanks!
